Tiny Beautiful Things

Having worked in Pasadena for several years in my late twenties, I always heard about the historic Pasadena Playhouse. I always heard about it, but never went. What a shame!

Last night, I had the tremendous opportunity through an invitation by Kristin Cruz, to attend the opening night (which also happened to be Wine Wednesday) of Tiny Beautiful Things.

"Nia Vardalos reprises the role she originated in her stage adaptation of acclaimed author Cheryl Strayed’s New York Times Bestseller of the same name. Conceived by Vardalos (writer/actor of MyBig Fat Greek Wedding), Thomas Kail (Director of Hamilton) and Marshall Heyman (Journalist, WallStreet Journal), this uniquely uplifting New YorkTimes Critics’ Pick is about reaching when you’re stuck, healing when you’re broken and finding the courage to take on the questions which have no answers. The Playhouse brings you The Public Theater’s production of this touching new play." - Pasadena Playhouse

What can I say? The play was funny, it was heart wrenching, it was beautiful, and on Wine Wednesday, you get to bring in your wine in a sippy cup!

The cast gave an immense performance, and emotionally entangled the audience with every letter to "Dear Sugar".

It was a beautiful experience. What happened next, was even more mind blowing.

After the show, all of the bloggers in attendance were escorted to the Pasadena Playhouse Library, a rich and beautiful library located on the second floor of the building, where we got to meet and interview the cast.

I had a beautiful and fulfilling evening, one which I was happy to spend with my fellow "mommy bloggers". What a fun and fabulous Mom's Night Out!
