Halloween Horror Nights is continuing to reveal its 2026 lineup, and this latest announcement is one that gamers—and anyone who loves immersive experiences—won't want to miss. Universal has officially announced an all-new scare zone inspired by Fortnitemares, the annual Halloween event from the wildly popular game Fortnite.

The new scare zone will debut at Universal Orlando Resort on August 28 and Universal Studios Hollywood on September 3, bringing one of gaming's biggest Halloween traditions into the real world.

Step Into the World of Fortnitemares

If you've ever played Fortnite, you know that Fortnitemares is one of the game's most anticipated seasonal events. Each fall, the game transforms with spooky new locations, creepy characters, Halloween-themed challenges, and supernatural surprises that completely change the experience.

Now, Universal is giving fans the chance to experience that world beyond the screen.

The all-new scare zone transports guests into Freaky Fields, a Halloween battleground that's been overtaken by mysterious evil forces. Rather than simply walking through a themed area, guests will feel like they've dropped directly into a live Fortnite match where danger lurks around every corner.

Expect Familiar Faces—and New Frights

One of the biggest highlights of the scare zone will be the appearance of the iconic Battle Bus, one of the most recognizable symbols in Fortnite.

As guests make their way through Freaky Fields, they'll come face-to-face with familiar Fortnitemares characters from the game, along with several brand-new creatures created exclusively for Halloween Horror Nights. The environment is designed to constantly feel alive, with evolving scares and unexpected encounters that keep guests on edge from beginning to end.

Whether you're a longtime Fortnite player or simply enjoy immersive themed entertainment, this scare zone promises to deliver a unique blend of gaming nostalgia and Halloween Horror Nights terror.

Exclusive Fortnitemares Merchandise

Fans can also bring a piece of the experience home with a new collection of limited-edition Fortnitemares merchandise.

The first wave includes:

  • A graphic T-shirt

  • A themed decal set

  • An exclusive acrylic collectible piece

The collection is available now at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, with online shopping through Shop Universal beginning July 23.

Additional merchandise may be released as Halloween Horror Nights gets closer, giving collectors even more to look forward to.

Another Big Win for Halloween Horror Nights

Universal has become known for bringing fan-favorite movies, television series, and video games to life in incredibly detailed ways, and the addition of Fortnite is another exciting example of that creativity.

Rather than creating a traditional haunted house, Universal has chosen to transform one of the event's scare zones into an interactive world inspired by one of the biggest games on the planet. It's a perfect fit for Halloween Horror Nights, blending immersive storytelling with the suspense and surprises guests expect from the event each year.

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Dates

Halloween Horror Nights returns on select nights this fall:

Universal Orlando ResortAugust 28 – November 1, 2026

Universal Studios HollywoodSeptember 3 – November 1, 2026

Universal has already announced several haunted houses and experiences for this year's event, with even more reveals still to come in the weeks ahead.

Is the Fortnitemares Scare Zone Worth Visiting?

If Fortnite has ever been part of your gaming rotation, the answer is absolutely yes. Seeing the Battle Bus in person, walking through Freaky Fields, and encountering characters inspired by one of the game's biggest annual events is sure to be a highlight of this year's Halloween Horror Nights.

Even if you've never played Fortnite, the scare zone looks like it will offer the same high-energy atmosphere, immersive theming, and memorable scares that have made Halloween Horror Nights one of the world's premier Halloween events.

Between the haunted houses, live entertainment, themed food, exclusive merchandise, and now a Fortnitemares scare zone, Halloween Horror Nights 2026 is shaping up to be one of Universal's biggest seasons yet.
