Playboi Carti, Ken Carson, and ComplexCon 2026: Why Parents Should Be Paying Attention

ComplexCon 2026

When the lineup for ComplexCon's 10th Anniversary was announced, most headlines focused on the star power: Playboi Carti, Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, Homixide Gang, and the full 00pium takeover of Los Angeles.

And while the concerts are certainly exciting, that's not what immediately caught my attention as a parent.

What I love about ComplexCon is that it isn't a music festival. It's a convention.

For parents of tweens and teens, that's an important distinction.

Taking place October 3-4, 2026, at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena, ComplexCon brings together hundreds of brands, artists, creators, designers, athletes, musicians, and innovators under one roof. Yes, there are major performances at night, but during the day attendees are exploring sneaker releases, streetwear brands, collectibles, art installations, gaming experiences, food vendors, panel discussions, and immersive activations.

For kids growing up in today's culture, it's essentially a real-life version of everything they already follow online.

As a mom raising boys, I actually appreciate that ComplexCon gives us something to experience together. My son is interested in sneakers, music, fashion, sports, and the creators he follows on social media. At ComplexCon, those interests come to life in a structured environment where we can spend the day exploring together instead of me simply dropping him off somewhere. That's probably my favorite thing about the event.

I wouldn't send my tween alone, but I absolutely would attend with him.

Unlike many large-scale outdoor events, ComplexCon takes place inside established venues designed to host thousands of guests safely. The Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena regularly host major conventions, sporting events, concerts, and large public gatherings. Entry points are controlled, guests pass through security screenings, and the venues are staffed with security personnel, event staff, medical teams, and guest services throughout the weekend. As a parent, that provides a level of comfort that matters.

Of course, every family should decide what is appropriate for their own children. The artists performing may not be for everyone, and parents should always research the performers and content beforehand. But the overall convention environment feels very different from what many people picture when they hear about a major music event.

In many ways, ComplexCon feels more like Comic-Con for sneakerheads, fashion enthusiasts, and music fans.

The concerts are part of the experience, but they're only one piece of a much larger event.

What excites me most is that ComplexCon exposes young people to creativity in all forms. Kids aren't just seeing musicians perform. They're seeing designers launch products, artists showcase their work, entrepreneurs build brands, and creators connect with their audiences. For tweens and teens who are interested in fashion, content creation, marketing, design, photography, music, or business, there's a lot to absorb.

It's also one of the few events where parents and kids can genuinely enjoy many of the same things.

One minute you're checking out a sneaker release. The next you're discovering a new clothing brand, grabbing food from a local vendor, listening to a panel discussion, or debating which activation is worth waiting in line for. Then later that evening, you head to Crypto.com Arena for one of the weekend's headline performances.

That's what makes ComplexCon unique. Yes, Playboi Carti's role as Artistic Director and the massive 00pium presence will undoubtedly be one of the biggest stories of the weekend. But for many families, the real appeal is the opportunity to spend time together while exploring the culture that so many young people are passionate about.

In a world where parents often struggle to connect with the things their kids love, ComplexCon creates a space where both generations can experience it side by side.

And honestly, that's what makes it worth attending.
