Kids Who Travel Watch: New Preschool Shows and Games on Netflix

Dr. Seuss's Red Fish Blue Fish on Netflix

Traveling with kids is one of the greatest gifts we can give them. They see new places, try new foods, and learn how big and beautiful the world really is. But let’s be honest — those in-between travel moments (airports, long car rides, train delays) can test everyone’s patience. That’s why I love having a little digital toolkit on hand, and Netflix’s new preschool shows and games are perfect for young kids who travel.

Screen Time That Travels Well

This season, Netflix is rolling out a playful new shows and games featuring childhood favorites like Dr. Seuss, Gabby and Pandy Paws, and the Sesame Street crew. For kids who are always on the go, these shows aren’t just entertainment — they’re little pockets of learning and laughter they can carry with them anywhere. And for us parents, downloadable episodes mean we don’t have to rely on spotty airport Wi-Fi or roadside signals.

Why It Works for Traveling Families

When my boys we smaller and on the road, I liked to mix it up — we would read, play games, snack, and then pull out something new to watch. That variety kept them from getting restless. The beauty of this new Netflix lineup is that it blends fun with education, so I know they’re not just zoning out, they’re growing alongside the characters they already love.

Beyond the Screen

Travel is about experiences, but it’s also about balance. Between hiking trails, city explorations, or beach days, it helps to have quieter moments where kids can recharge. Netflix even offers printable activities, crafts, and recipes on their Family Hub — which is gold for hotel downtime, rainy days on vacation, or even just winding down after a long day of sightseeing.

Travel Hack for Parents

Before every trip, I let the kids “test out” a few of the new shows at home. The ones that get them giggling or singing along? Those are the ones I download to our devices before we hit the road. That way, when the “Are we there yet?” starts up, I’m ready with something fresh and fun. To this day, this is my go to.

Kids who travel are kids who see the world with wide eyes — and sometimes a little screen time helps make those journeys smoother for everyone. With Netflix’s new preschool shows and games, parents get peace of mind, and kids get imaginative adventures that fit right in their backpacks.
